The Independence Memorial Museum is a historical museum in Windhoek, Namibia. It focuses on the anti-colonial resistance and the national liberation struggle of Namibia. The first floor tells the story of Namibia during pre-colonial, colonial times and the early resistance leaders. The next floor shifts gears to the war of independence against the South African apartheid regime. The final floor covers the formation of a new nation, diplomacy by exiled Namibians, supporting forces (Cuba & Angola), UN reocgnition, elections, SWAPO politics, military & hero dedication, and a history panorama with oversized paintings.
